Established in 2018, JESU has since then worked on the growth and recognition of esports within Japan, as well as dispatching National Teams to various International Competitions. Domestically, JESU has worked on establishing the legal position of esports to ensure proper prize money distributions, and host annual national championships between the 47 prefectures. After recognition by Japanese NOC in 2024, and by JSPO in 2025, JESU looks to further integrate esports into the Japanese sports ecosystem.

Kosuke Hiraiwa began his career as an announcer at Asahi Broadcasting Corporation, covering live commentary for professional baseball and soccer. He founded ODYSSEY Inc. in 2018, Japan’s first agency dedicated to esports casters that oversees more than 600 appearances annually. In addition, he engages in organizing proprietary tournaments, event planning, and consulting services, as well as supervising a television anime released this year. He is also active as an esports caster, providing live commentary for official tournaments across multiple titles. His voice is also featured in the automated commentary system of Street Fighter 6.
