PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS is set to make its Esports Nations Cup debut, bringing the genre-defining battle royale into a nation-based competitive format for the opening year in Riyadh.

Twenty-four national teams will compete on PC in Battle Royale play for a share of a $1,120,000 prize pool, with national pride on the line across seven days of elite competition. Every match carries weight as squads fight for survival and positioning in one of esports’ most demanding formats.
Fans can expect matches defined by large-scale maps, ever-shrinking zones, and constant strategic tension. Success in PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS is determined by resource management and forward-thinking rotations as teams adapt to unpredictable engagements and shifting conditions across each drop.
The Esports Nations Cup introduces a new competitive spotlight for PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, with teams representing their nations rather than clubs. The stage in Riyadh brings together the world’s best talent in a format where preparation and coordination decide outcomes, setting the foundation for new rivalries to emerge.
The PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS tournament at the Esports Nations Cup will run during tournament week 2, from November 9th to November 15th. The competition begins with a group stage featuring three groups of eight teams, with each group playing five matches to determine advancement. The top 16 teams progress to the finals, where 10 matches will decide the champion based on overall performance and consistency.
Qualification for the event is determined using the official PUBG Power Ranking, with a cut-off date of June 7th. Additional qualifying teams will be decided through Esports Nations Cup qualifiers, held from July 10th to July 12th, using a double-elimination bracket adapted for battle royale competition.
PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS has produced a highly competitive international scene, with the United States, South Korea, Australia, and China long established as dominant forces through years of elite-level performances.
Across Europe, the Americas, and Southeast Asia, a growing number of nations continue to close the gap, developing disciplined teams with the adaptability required to challenge the established order. With only the strongest teams advancing through each stage, every match carries lasting consequences, making the Esports Nations Cup a definitive proving ground where execution and national pride shape the opening chapter of PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS history and ignite new rivalries.
